RUNOLITH BLOCK STACKER

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 8, 2026 runolith.app

01Overview

Runolith Block Stacker ("the App") is a puzzle game by Simon Bürgisser. This policy explains what data is processed while you play, what it's used for, and what rights you have. There is no user account, no registration, and no server operated by us that collects gameplay data.

In short: Your high score, chosen difficulty, and language selection stay on your device only. The one third party involved is Google AdMob, which serves the ads that fund the App.

02Data Stored Locally

The App stores the following on your device only (via standard Android/iOS app storage). None of it is ever transmitted to us or to any third party:

ItemPurpose
Best score and permanent lifetime scoreDisplaying your high score and unlocking additional game worlds
Selected difficultyCarried over to your next session
Selected languageInterface starts in your last-used language
Progress marker for the difficulty assistAutomatically eases the pace after several short rounds in a row

This data is removed when you uninstall the App or clear its storage in your device settings.

03Advertising (Google AdMob)

The App is funded by advertising served through Google AdMob. The controller for this advertising is Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) for users in the EU, EEA, UK, and Switzerland, and Google LLC (1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA) otherwise. Google AdMob may also serve ads from other ad networks through mediation. When ads are requested and shown, Google may process:

  • Your device's advertising identifier (Android Advertising ID or iOS IDFA, where permitted by you)
  • Device and app information (e.g. device type, OS version, coarse location region)
  • Ad interactions (impressions, clicks)

This processing is carried out by Google as an independent controller. Google's own Privacy Policy applies in addition to this policy. How Google uses data in connection with AdMob is described at support.google.com/admob/answer/6128543.

Legal basis

For users within the scope of the GDPR, this processing relies on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) for personalized ads, or on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in funding the App through non-personalized, contextual ads where consent is not given. For users in Switzerland, processing takes place under the Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP).

Consent for users in the EU, EEA, UK, and Switzerland

Users in these regions are asked for consent via Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) before personalized ads are shown. Without consent, only non-personalized ads are served. Consent can be changed or withdrawn at any time through the privacy settings in the App.

International data transfers

Google may process data in countries outside Switzerland and the EEA, including the United States. Google states that it relies on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework (including its UK and Swiss-U.S. extensions) and EU Standard Contractual Clauses as safeguards for an adequate level of protection. See Google's Privacy Policy for details.

Opting out of ad personalization

Independently of the consent banner, you can limit ad personalization in your device settings: on Android under Google settings → Ads, on iOS under Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

04No Other Services

The App uses no in-house analytics or tracking services (no usage analytics of our own, no third-party crash reporting outside of ad processing). Advertising runs exclusively through Google AdMob; through AdMob mediation, ads from other ad networks may also be served (see Section 03).

05Children

The App is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Some EU member states set a higher minimum age (up to 16) for consenting to data-related services on their own; minors below the applicable age should only use the App with a parent or guardian's consent.

06Your Rights

Where the GDPR or the Swiss FADP applies, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your data, to data portability, and to object to processing. Since we don't hold personal data on our own servers, these rights primarily concern Google's processing in practice; you can exercise them directly with Google via the contact details in its Privacy Policy. Data stored locally on your device (high score, preferences) can be deleted at any time by clearing the App's storage or uninstalling it.

Right to lodge a complaint

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your competent data protection supervisory authority. For users in Switzerland, this is the Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC); for users in the EU/EEA, the data protection authority of your country of residence.

07Applicable Law

This policy and any privacy-related claims against the controller are governed by Swiss law. Mandatory consumer-protection and data-protection provisions at your habitual place of residence, in particular within the EU/EEA, remain unaffected and take precedence where more favorable to you. This policy deliberately does not establish an exclusive place of jurisdiction beyond that, since such a clause would in any case have limited enforceability against consumers in the EU.

08Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated from time to time, for example when new features or services are added. The version published at this address governs; the date above reflects the latest revision.
